Listing Your Home: Staging Photos

Listing Your Home - Staging Photos

As they say these days: Web appeal is the new curb appeal.

It is more important than ever to present internet users with the best photos of your home possible.

Most Home Buyers find listings online, as such the photos you use will either attract potential home buyers or run them off. This first impression matters.

Here are a few tips to put your home’s best foot forward when taking Listing Photos:

  • Prep

We’re talking organizing, de-cluttering, and purging. Clutter in photos can make a room appear much smaller. Open up space by making sure all the details look perfect.

With internet access to your photos, also comes more scrutiny. So if something is dirty, or the dog bowl is still out (remember you can zoom in on the internet), it takes away from the “new home feel” and instead puts the image in buyer’s heads that you are messy – not great for selling your home. You want it to look impeccable.

  • High Quality

Poor lighting, blurry resolution, distortion – these are all factors that don’t show your home to the best of its appearance.

It can be a really good idea to hire a professional to take listing photos. They know how to capture the best frame, they can bring extra lighting, and they’re also capable of enhancing their photos.

  • Take Lots of Photos

The more photos you have, the more options you have to choose from. It’s also nice to have lots of photos to show buyers the various room perspectives so that they get a feel for what your home actually looks like before the walk-through.
