5 Ways to Show Your Home Some Love

Valentine’s Day is a big day for some people. While we try to remember to show how much we care to our loved one, it’s not farfetched to say we’re all human and a little reminder never hurt anyone.

The same rings true about our home. Our home, that provides so well for us, protects us, keeps us warm, deserves some love and attention too.
Here are 5 tips to show your home how much you care this Valentine’s Day:

1. Bring your home flowers

Perhaps your significant other loves red roses, but red roses don’t go well with the colour scheme of your kitchen. Well, bring your Kitchen some daisies then! Flowers have a way of brightening up a room and making it more pleasant to be in. Win-win if you ask me.

2. Feed its squeaky hinges

Crack out the WD40 and go to town. Those doors open day and night for you, make their job a little easier.

3. Buy it pretty things

Everyone likes to be spoiled at least a little. A new lamp for your desk, a carpet for the living room, or new piece of artwork can do wonders for your home’s feelings of appreciation. If you’re looking for something unique and understated, consider a new doorbell. You know what they say: If you like it then you should have put a ring on it.

4. Give your bedroom a big smile

Feeling appreciated is a big factor that plays into how we interact. When you get home on Valentine’s Day, give your bedroom a big smile and remind yourself how thankful your are for its cozy blanket and soft pillows.

5. Forgive its flaws

No one is perfect. As we become closer to someone we recognize this. The thing is not to dwell on it. Focus on the best parts of who your home is and shrug your shoulders at its “No Pets Policy”.
